Trial classes are offered at start of each semester.
3 weeks for $40: Wednesday Jan 17th, 24th, and 31st

This trial class is a commitment-free way to find out if Ohse Violin Studio is right for you. Children learn most from other children, and students who regularly attend group classes in addition to their private lessons are more likely to be successful in their musical studies. In this introductory trial class, students and parents will meet other prospective families and experience what it's like to be part of the Ohse Violin Studio.
Using the Suzuki method, students ages 4-6 start with a transformed Mac 'n' Cheese box instead of a real violin. The box prepares young beginners for the real violin by teaching them how to care for and handle the instrument. While using the box, children develop focus, discipline, listening ability, fine motor control, and musical and technical skills needed in order to graduate to the real violin. (Depending on the child, the amount of time before the student moves from the box to the violin varies from 1 week to 1 year.) For the trial class, each student will receive his/her own box violin.
Older students, ages 7-10, also start on a box but move more quickly to the instrument. In this introductory trial class, students will learn technical skills needed for the violin and have many chances to try these skills out on a real violin.
Trial class tuition covers the cost of box-violin supplies, instrument rentals, and other new student/family materials.
