Ohse Violin Studio summer camps are intensive programs for beginning and intermediate students. Space is limited to ensure that each student receives daily private instruction in addition to group class. In this setting, the student's progress is accelerated, fostering a valuable and motivating experience. Skills that often take months to develop, happen in a matter of days. This summer, Ohse Violin Studio is offering programs for children ages 3.5-10, located at Eastwood Christian Church.

June 4th-8th
9:00-9:45am for beginning students and parents ages 5-6, $100 + $25 for new student supplies = $125
Through singing, stories, movement and games, this class gives the parent and child a strong foundation for starting violin lessons.
Using the Suzuki method, students start with a transformed Mac 'n' Cheese box instead of a violin. The box prepares young beginners for the real violin by teaching them how to care for and handle the instrument. While using the box, children develop focus, discipline, listening ability, fine motor control, and musical and technical skills needed in order to graduate to the real violin. (Depending on the child, the amount of time before the student moves from the box to the violin varies from 1 week to 1 year.) Each student will receive his/her own box violin to take home. A real violin will be available to use during class for students who show readiness. Parents will receive their own copy of "Beyond the Music Lesson: Habits of Successful Suzuki Families" by Christine E. Goodner. Only 4 spots available.
10am-12pm for beginning and intermediate students ages 7-10, $200 (additional $25 instrument rental fee for new beginners)
Students will participate in masterclasses, group classes, and theory classes. Masterclasses will be a rigorous focus on each individual's technique. Group class will focus on polishing familiar pieces as well as learning new tunes to be played together. Theory class will emphasize ear training and note reading. Parents are welcome and encouraged to sit in, but not required. Only 5 spots available.
